Log a KPI update

Logging an update adds a point to the KPI chart and a row to Recorded updates. Log one KPI at a time.

How to get there#

  • Open a KPI. Click Log update in the page header, or Log update on the chart.
  • Open Review in the top navigation. If you are the champion, look for Log update for followed by the KPI name under that space. That link opens the KPI page so you can log the update.

Log an update#

  1. Open the KPI.
  2. Click Log update.
  3. In the Log update dialog (its title includes the KPI name), enter Value in the KPI’s unit.
  4. By default the form logs for today. To backfill another day, click Change date, then pick a Date.
  5. Optionally add a Note (optional) (placeholder: “What’s behind this number?”). The helper text says it is “Posted as the first comment on this update.”
  6. Click Record update.

The dialog reminds you of the unit and, if there is already history, the last recorded value. For the first update it says “This will be the first recorded value.”

Who can do this#

You need Edit Access or Full Access on the space.

KPI champions also see due items on Review when the current weekly or monthly period has no value yet. The assignment is due on the first day of the period and stays until you record an update.

Edge cases#

You can later edit or delete a logged value.
